Andreas Rheindt Takes Over Training Management
Andreas Rheindt is the new Head of Training (HoT) at HELI-FLIGHT JLR: The German Federal Aviation Office has officially recognized him in this role. Andreas has been part of our team since 2017 and has since further developed the ATO flight school both technically and structurally together with Igor Kern.
The 37-year-old began his flying career in 2010 in New Zealand on the R22 and R44, subsequently gained experience in New Zealand and Australia, and expanded his flight practice mainly with sightseeing flights after returning to Germany in 2012. In 2016, he became a flight instructor (FI(H)) and has been working at HELI-FLIGHT JLR in various roles in training and flight operations since May 2017.
His focus is on effective initial and advanced training within our ATO, as well as HEMS crew member training. Andreas now has over 3,400 flight hours as a flight instructor, examiner, HEMS pilot, and crew trainer on the R22, R44, R66, H145, AS365, and EC155. Today, he leads training and is an instructor on the R22, R44, R66, and H145 – with a clear emphasis on practical scenario training that guides our flight students from novice to professional pilot.
Special thanks go to Igor Kern, who has served as Head of Training until now and will continue to accompany our ATO flight school as Chief Flight Instructor. Together, at HELI-FLIGHT JLR, a subsidiary of Johanniter Luftrettung, we stand for high-quality, practice-oriented helicopter training and are actively committed to recruiting young talent – from the first introductory flight to professional multi-engine helicopter pilots.
